1. Is the Sankofa Guest House a BOB, Black-owned business or owned by Black Africans? 

Yes, the Sankofa Guest House is owned by both Black Diasporans from the United States and Black Ghanaians. 

2. Is the Sankofa Guest House eco-friendly?
– Absolutely! We’re a green property with solar backup power in certain areas. We’re also conscious about water usage, so we wash linens every seven days unless you request otherwise.

3. I’ve heard bathrooms in Ghana are different. Is that true?
– Yes, in Ghana, there’s a separate switch for hot water in the bathroom. At our guest house, the hot water switch is right outside the bathroom door. Just flip the orange switch for a warm shower!

4. Can I make same-day reservations?
– For same-day bookings, it’s best to contact us directly. Remember, check-in starts at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM.

5. What if I need to cancel my reservation?
– Once booked, reservations can’t be cancelled, modified, or refunded. However, in cases of verified emergencies, we might consider granting refunds.

6. Are there any special offers?
– Yes, our website occasionally displays special offers. Do note that these offers might have specific terms and might not be cancellable or modifiable.

7. How do I pay for my stay?
– Payment is made online using Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. We don’t accept cash payments for lodging reservations.

8. Is the property secure?
– Definitely! We have gated access, and our gatekeepers will grant you entry once you provide valid identification.

9. Can I rent common areas for events?
– Yes, you can rent common areas for an additional fee. However, we limit rentals to ensure all guests can enjoy the shared spaces.

– No, the Sankofa Guest House is a 100% smoke-free and drug-free property.

11. Can I bring my pet?
– We adore animals, but for health and safety reasons, pets aren’t allowed. Some service animals might be permitted for an additional fee, so please inquire before booking.

12. What if something gets damaged during my stay?
– Guests are expected to report any issues during their stay. If damages occur due to misuse, you might be responsible for the associated fees.

– Ghana uses a 230V electricity current with a frequency of 50Hz. Most modern electronics are designed to work with multiple voltages, but it’s always a good idea to check your device’s specifications. You might need a plug adapter as Ghana uses the British-style three-pin rectangular blade plug.

15. I want to try Ghanaian food, but what if I want food I’m used to?

16. How do I get my room key?
– Our door knobs are equipped with keypads. Your unique access code will be emailed to you prior to your arrival. Just enter the code, and you’re in!

– Ordering room service is a breeze! Simply visit our website, browse the menu, make your selection, and place your order. Our team will ensure it’s delivered to your room promptly.

18. Is it easy to get around Accra from the Sankofa Guest House?
– Absolutely! We are strategically located close to the three major interstate highways, making it convenient for you to explore Accra and its surroundings.

19. I have a special diet. Can you accommodate that?

– Most international phones work in Ghana, but you might need to get a local SIM card for better rates and connectivity. Major telecom providers in Ghana offer affordable data and call packages. Ensure your phone is unlocked before your trip to easily switch to a local SIM.
